This will heretofore be known as Great Tom Twit.
I hated the way the single-coil lipstick pickup sounded, so I swapped it out with the original Bridge pickup, except reversed the mounting ring to give it a deliberately bad angle to the body, then adjusted the pole screws to fit. That gave it the jangle I wanted.
I overhauled the electronics to give 500k pots per pickup, gave each pickup its own weird little capacitor, and threw in a Meg pot for the main volume so I can hear every demented sound this thing makes.
Cosmetically, I replaced the knobs with these weird little knurled plastic things that don’t match. It’s a work in process. Color matching knobs from Amazon is tedious.
Finally, because the nut pissed me off by being synthetic, I replaced it with a bone nut and slotted it appropriately.
If I’m being honest, I want to swap the bridge piece with a rocker and the tuning machines to lockers because it takes a bit of time to warm up and resonate properly, but… hey, I’m broke.
I would also love to share the sounds this thing makes, but I made the poor choice to get a Chromebook that will not interface with my amp. Again, broke. More to come whenever I get un-broke, but I wanted to share my messed up modified guitar.
