Processing Process
A3
Charcoal, conte crayon, pastel, chalk, graphite, food coloring, and hairspray on watercolor paper
November 3, 2026
I am slowly (slowly) emerging from burnout that has been piling for the past 20 or so years.
About the process:
Some of the process in this is old and some is new. I took this one slowly, only adding bits here and there. My favorite art movement of all time is the Dadaists, and I commonly use their techniques. For this piece, I used randomly applied color, shape, and textures through each layer. I have combined the Dadaists’ readymades, sound poetry, and performance art with the inked text and symbols. I drew from the PGM and decided to really work those spells into it, so there’s a magical formula that I used as a structural shape, a set of voces magicae as another structural shape, and some charaktêres that I freaking love.
